New Press Release - January 3, 2013

Letter of Intent Issued - December 15, 2012
The Blue Gray Alliance has received a Letter of Intent from Freedom Township, PA for the 150th Battle of Gettysburg stating, " At the point in time when the process meets the approval of the Township, the Township intends to issue the special events permit for this event". We have been working closely with the Township and are near completion of this process. The purpose of this letter is to give reenactors the ability to present the information at unit meetings and to distribute it to everyone you deem appropriate.  While the actual permit approval is ongoing, the Township Supervisors and Township Engineer are excited about the event and are supportive of our efforts.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
The member organizations of the Blue Gray Alliance have
made the decision to present a 150th Anniversary Battle of Gettysburg.  This
will be a reenactment BY reenactors, FOR reenactors.  Plans  are currently underway for this four day event which will include historically accurate recreations of the various battles in and around Gettysburg in 1863.
This was the "high tide" mark for the Confederacy and was a major turning point
in the war.  The Blue Gray Alliance is hosting this event because we think the
reenactment community deserves a rewarding memory full of "historical moments"  when we look back at the 150th Anniversary of the Battle of
Gettysburg.

The event location and a site map will be posted before the event.
